Our Story

Seventy Years of Setting the Standard

From a small fabrication shop in 1953 to an industry-leading manufacturer trusted by treatment facilities across the country.

1953

W.B. Thompson established the company.
02

1980

Mr. Thompson passes away, and his two sons assume control of the business.

1992

Lynn Thompson buys his brother’s shares in the company and become CEO.
04

1999

Mr. Thompson sells the business to Ligon, a Birmingham, AL-based company that is North America’s largest independent hydraulic cylinder manufacturer.

2023

Thompson Fabricating celebrates its 70th anniversary.

JTI JOVE Joins Thompson Fabricating

Thompson Fabricating completed the acquisition of JTI JOVE to expand its portfolio and strengthen the combined company’s ability to serve industrial piping projects. JOVE brings established expertise in custom pipe supports and technical services, build-to-print structural frames, pipe-supporting components, and auxiliary steel.
